Tel Aviv, Aug 13, SPA -- Israel's police minister warned Fridaythat he will not give in to any of the demands ofPalestinian prisoners who are planning to launch a hungerstrike next week. The strike is scheduled to begin Sunday. "No demands will be accepted ... There will be noflexibility," said Tzahi Hanegbi, the police minister,after a meeting with the police chief and the head of theprisons service to discuss the impending strike. About 4,000 Palestinians are in Israeli jails forparticipating in violence that broke out in September 2000.Thousands more are held in military prisons, many withoutbeing charged.
