Israeli Offensive United Nations, Oct 5, SPA -- The U.N. Security Council is holding an emergency meeting later today on the escalating violence associated with Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip and discussing an Arab-drafted resolution on the topic. Algeria's U.N. Ambassador Abdallah Baali, the only Arab member currently on the Security Council, requested the open meeting following the nearly week-long operation that has killed at least 65 Palestinians.
