United Nations, Sept 25, SPA -- Iraq's interim prime ministerappealed for a major infusion of foreign troops andinternational aid to help his country hold elections byJanuary, saying a failure to achieve democracy would be avictory for terrorism. Standing before the leaders of many nations that opposedthe U.S.-led war in Iraq, Ayad Allawi on Friday urged theinternational community to set aside its differences overthe legality of the invasion to oust Saddam Hussein and"stand fast by Iraq."
