Six Security Officials, Two Taliban Commanders Killed in Pakistan

Islamabad, Sha'ban 25, 1434, Jul 4, 2013, SPA - Five soldiers were killed Thursday when a suspected Taliban suicide car bomber rammed into a checkpoint in north-western Pakistan, officials said. Up to three more were wounded in the attack in the restive tribal region near the Afghan border, according to a report of DPA. A security official said the bombing was in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan tribal district. On Sunday, four soldiers were killed when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb allegedly planted by the Taliban militants. No group immediately claimed responsibility. Also Thursday, a police official was shot dead by militants during an operation in the suburbs of Peshawar, the capital of the north-western province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
