Seoul, Rabi'I 11, 1434, Jan 23, 2013, SPA - South Korea's government has welcomed the Security Council's adoption of a resolution placing tighter sanctions on North Korea in face of the launch of its long-range missile. According to South Korean news agency "Yonhap", the sanctions outlined in Resolution 2087 newly target the North's Korean Committee for Space Technology, a bank and four trading companies involved in transacting goods and equipment related to the committee's development of rocket and weapons technology. The binding measure also calls for the asset freeze of six additional North Korean entities, including the one in charge of the rocket launch, and imposes a travel ban on four more officials. "What is important is that the international community produced a unified and clear voice against North Korea's rocket launch," a South Korean official here said. --SPA 14:38 LOCAL TIME 11:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1071411
