Baghdad, Ramadan 2, 1434, Jul 11, 2013, SPA - An Iraqi official says gunmen have killed 14 Iraqi security troops in the country's west in an attack, according to a report of the Associated Press. The official says the attack took place on Thursday evening when gunmen first overran an army checkpoint near the town of Barwana. The town is about 220 kilometers (140 miles) northwest of Baghdad. The attackers then shot up a trailer used by special oil industry police force protecting a nearby pipeline.
