Washington, Dhu-AlQa'dah 3, 1433, Sep 19, 2012, SPA - U.S. President Barack Obama spoke with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan by telephone Tuesday to "continue their close consultations on regional and global issues," the White House said. "The President expressed condolences for today's (Tuesday) deadly attack on a Turkish military convoy and other recent attacks that have killed and wounded Turkish citizens; the Prime Minister expressed his condolences for the recent loss of Ambassador Chris Stevens and his three colleagues in Libya," the White House said in a statement. According to the White House, the president and the prime minister agreed that it was necessary to work closely with one another to combat terrorism.
