MOMBASA, Dhu-AlQa'dah 2, 1433, Sep 18, 2012, SPA - Two mass graves were found in Kenya's coastal Tana River region, police said on Tuesday, a week after at least 38 people were shot, hacked and burnt to death as two tribes fought over land and water. The graves were discovered in Kilelengwani village, the epicentre of fighting that has killed 100 people in the last three weeks, including nine police officers, according to a report of Reuters. President Mwai Kibaki imposed a curfew last week and sent extra security forces to the area to try to end the violence, intensified by an influx of weapons in the last few years. "We don't know yet whether they are attackers who died while in confrontation with security personnel, or were just victims killed by attackers during the clashes and buried," regional police chief Aggrey Adoli said. --SPA 13:44 LOCAL TIME 10:44 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1030980
