30,000 Displaced Syrians Receive Assistance and Support:UNHCR

Beirut, Sha'ban 18, 1433, Jul 8, 2012, SPA -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced that more than 30,000 displaced Syrian people in Lebanon have been receiving assistance and support, including 26,905 who are registered with the concerned official bodies. In its latest weekly report, published in Beirut today, UNHCR indicated that the movement in the flow of the newly displaced Syrians to the north of Lebanon continues with the recent arrival of about 300 people who make up 60 families in the region of Wadi Khaled, adding that it has registered 338 people comprising 79 families and that the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs has also registered an additional group of 140 people accounting for 28 families through home-visits, bringing the total number of the registered displaced Syrians in northern Lebanon to 17,157 displaced people. --SPA 13:11 LOCAL TIME 10:11 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1013944
