Washington, Dhu-AlQa'dah 3, 1435, Aug 29, 2014, SPA -- Airstrikes and other military actions in Iraq are costing Washington an estimated 7.5 million dollars a day, a Pentagon spokesman says, according to dpa. Rear Admiral John Kirby says the figure is an average daily amount the Pentagon has spent since the beginning of operations in June. In addition to the more than 100 airstrikes carried out since early August against Islamic State militants, the Pentagon is paying for several hundred military advisors and special troops that have been sent to Iraq, Kirby says. -- SPA 20:54 LOCAL TIME 17:54 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1267117
