Dhaka, Sha'ban 1, 1435, May 30, 2014, SPA -- Bangladeshi and Myanmar border guards on Friday exchanged gunfire after a meeting between the two sides over the abduction of a Bangladeshi soldier by Myanmar guards ended inconclusively, officials said, according to dpa. The skirmishes lasted for several hours at the Naikhyongchhari area, more than 320 kilometers south-west of the capital Dhaka, leaving two Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) troopers missing. The BGB director general, Major General Aziz Ahmed, said four soldiers had gone missing in the dense forest during the gunfights, but two of them have communicated. The BGB alleged that Myanmar's Border Guard Police (BGP) on Wednesday fired at Bangladeshi troops on regular patrol and abducted a soldier from the area. -- SPA 20:56 LOCAL TIME 17:56 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1238360
