WASHINGTON, Sha'ban 5, 1434, Jun 14, 2013, SPA -- The U.S. says the only way to get a nuclear North Korea to disarm is for nations to "close ranks" and demand it, according to AP. U.S. envoy on North Korea, Glyn Davies, said Friday that Washington is not averse to talking to Pyongyang. But he said the bar for resumed engagement is now higher after the North scuttled an aid-for-disarmament deal over a year ago, then conducted long-range rocket and nuclear tests and issued threats. Davies said the key to a diplomatic solution is for U.S. and North Korea's four neighbors to send a unified message that Pyongyang has to live up to previous commitments on denuclearization. He said the U.S. has "every expectation" China will use its special relationship with the North to encourage it to "choose a different path." -- SPA 19:06 LOCAL TIME 16:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1120218
