Johannesburg, Rajab 5, 1433, May 26, 2012, SPA - Voters in Lesotho cast their ballots Saturday in general elections in which Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili is facing two rivals. Around 1 million people, or half the population of the tiny impoverished southern African mountain Kingdom, are eligible to vote. The election follows bitter rivalry within the ruling Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) party that led to Mosisili quitting to form the Democratic Congress. His main rival is Mothejoa Metsing who now heads the LCD. The third contender is opposition leader Tom Thabane, who broke away from the LCD in 2006 to form the All Bashotho Convention, according to a report of DPA. Polling stations are due to close at around 1500 GMT, with results expected Sunday. --SPA 13:21 LOCAL TIME 10:21 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1001905
