Moscow, Rabi'II 12, 1433, Mar 5, 2012, SPA - Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday was declared the official winner of Russia's weekend presidential election with 63.75 per cent of the vote. The result, which came after Putin declared victory Sunday night, meant a runoff vote was unnecessary, said the head of the Central Election Commission, Vladimir Churov. Turnout in Sunday's voting was 65.3 per cent of the 110 million eligible voters, Churov was quoted as saying by DPA. Putin, 59, would return to the presidency after serving a maximum two-consecutive terms from 2000 to 2008. --SPA 11:00 LOCAL TIME 08:00 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/976367
