All Potentials Harnessed To Protect Kingdom's Borders, Says Prince Ahmad

Riyadh, Rajab 13, 1433, Jun 3, 2012, SPA - Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Interior has said that the Border Guards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have witnessed a very significant development in recent times, indicating that all potentials have been harnessed to protect sea and land borders of the Kingdom and the Guards have been exerting great efforts in protecting the Kingdom from smuggling or infiltration. In a press statement after attending last night a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Border Guards, Prince Ahmad said that the problem of piracy and hijacking of ships is a global one, adding, " These operations occur in distant seas; but they are few, and there is an international alliance to fight piracy, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is participating in it." Asked about nuclear facilities and plants and the risks of their potential leakage and the extent of their effects on the Kingdom, Prince Ahmad stressed that nuclear facilities and plants are dangerous in any place where they exist, and they affect the nearer and the nearest one to them, praying to Allah Almighty for permanent protection from their risks. With regard to the video in which appeared a Saudi diplomat kidnapped in Yemen, and the measures taken by the Interior Ministry in this regard, the Prince said, "Even if there are procedures, they should not be disclosed, but we hope for the best and his return home safely."
