KARACHI, Rajab 19, 1433, Jun 9, 2012, SPA - Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari returned here Friday after participating in the 12th Summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that was held in Beijing, China from June 6-7. Spokesperson to the President, Senator Farhatullah Babar while giving a round-up of the visit said that it had two components, one participation in the 12th SCO Summit and the other the bilateral meetings. In the first component, the President pleaded Pakistan’s case for full membership of the Organization while in the second component the process of bilateral relations was carried further forward during the meetings with Presidents of China, Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan. President Asif Ali Zardari received an extraordinary hospitality and protocol during his stay in China, reflecting a strong bond between the leaders and the peoples of two countries. The President, who was in China to attend the annual meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) also held a range of meetings with the Chinese leadership and inked a number of Memoranda of Understanding to further solidify the multifaceted bilateral ties.
