Istanbul, Jumada I 2, 1433, Mar 25, 2012, SPA - Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan told US President Barack Obama that the international community had a duty to act on Syria, noting that 17,000 refugees had fled to his country since the unrest started a year ago. "We can't be spectators, waiting to see what happens is just not an option," Erdogan said after discussing the situation in Syria during a meeting with Obama in Seoul ahead of an international nuclear security meeting there. Turkey's state news agency "Anatolian" reported Erdogan as stating that the two leaders were in agreement over Syria, with the Turkish premier expressing his gratitude for US support for Turkey's own struggle against regional terrorism. "We have a duty and we are trying to find a solution (on Syria) through international law.
