Cairo, Safar 24, 1433, Jan 18, 2012, SPA - Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's defense lawyer continued his closing arguments for a second consecutive day on Wednesday. Farid Al-Deeb, Mubarak's main lawyer, was expected to build upon arguments he made on Tuesday denying the former president's complicity in the killing of protesters during the uprising that ousted him last year, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". State television Wednesday showed footage of Mubarak, 83, being transported from a helicopter onto a stretcher and carried into a makeshift court building at the Police Academy on the outskirts of Cairo. Mubarak, former ex-interior minister Habib al-Adli, and six security aides are charged with ordering the killing of protesters, DPA added. Mubarak and his two sons, Alaa and Gamal, also face charges of corruption and public money wasting, DPA said. All defendants have pleaded not guilty. Lawyers for the defendants have until February 16 to finish their arguments, after which the judge is expected to set a date for the verdict to be delivered. --SPA 14:15 LOCAL TIME 11:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/962444
