Tunis, Muharram 16, 1433, Dec 11, 2011, SPA - Tunisia's new Constituent Assembly adopted a provisional constitution late Saturday, setting out the government's powers over the next year, while a new constitution is being drafted. A large majority in the 217-member assembly voted in favor of the bill, after five days of often fractious debate, Tunisia's official TAP news agency reported. The new law paves the way for the election of a president and establishment of a power-sharing government, a month and a half after the country's first free elections, which were won by Ennahda party. --SPA 13:28 LOCAL TIME 10:28 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/951305
