Moscow, Muharram 10, 1433, Dec 5, 2011, SPA - Russia's ruling party will retain solid control of parliament despite obtaining a shade less than half the vote in Sunday's election, election officials said Monday. United Russia, led by President Dmitry Medvedev, obtained 49.54 per cent of the vote, which should be sufficient to give it 238 seats in the 450-member national legislature the Duma, said Vladimir Churov, head of the Central Election Committee (CEC), according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". --SPA 13:06 LOCAL TIME 10:06 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/949567
