The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties launched the Arabic language education program for non-native speakers in the health field. The program is introduced through the digital learning platform for the health practitioner. The program aims in its first phase to teach greeting phrases in Arabic. The commission explained that the program aims to raise the level of Arabic language skills, effective communication among non-native speakers, and increase awareness of the Saudi dialect and heritage. This will enable the practitioner to use the language properly to provide optimal health care centered around patients’ experience and safety. The commission said that it had cooperated with a number of experts in the health field, language experts, and teachers to non-native speakers to work on this program. It has also developed an electronic version in cooperation with a content development team. The program is considered to be first of its kind in the health field in the Kingdom. It is the first step for a complete and integrated educational path that is in the interest of health practitioners, patients, and their families.
