Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf condemned on Tuesday an Israeli official for his “provocative” storming the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. He expressed his regret at the practices of the Israeli authorities, which he said undermine international peace efforts.  The practices violate international principles and norms regarding religious sanctities, he added.  Al-Hajraf underscored the stance of the GCC that stands by the Palestinian people and backs all efforts aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and establishing a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.  The solution must allow the Palestinian people to establish an independent state according to the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, he added.
