Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO of the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, has described the Saudi capital as "a global metropolis" as he showcased the diversity and potential of the city. Speaking at Saudi Arabia’s Misk Foundation Youth Majlis at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Monday, he assured that Riyadh has 3 million jobs and we can do a lot more in all sectors. "Every sector in Riyadh can be addressed and become more competitive." Al-Rasheed said: "Riyadh is an incredibly successful global city. It has the fortieth-largest city economy in the world. 8 million people. A global metropolis with more than one-third of the population comes from outside Saudi Arabia." He revealed that the city has over 30 mega projects underway. Qiddiya, Diriyah and some global sustainable examples such as green Riyadh, King Salman Park, and the metro are some of them. "They’re launched and we’re closing in on many of them, especially the metro." Riyadh metro is the largest Single-phase public transport project ever developed. "I think our cities need to be focused more on the human-centric approach to design and development and Riyadh is bringing people together and unleashing people"s potential," he added. He stressed that cities "are the start of where all our delivery of Vision 2030 will happen." He said the city is working on customer-resident feedback mechanism to evaluate their satisfaction of services "whereby we know how happy they’re in every place in the city. It’s an approach in which we say to our citizens you run the city because it’s a big city." He also shed light on Riyadh"s bid for Expo 2030.
