RIYADH — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh has said a total of more than SR4 billion has been saved from the ministry"s budget within four years. The money was used for paying off debts owed by the ministry. Al-Sheikh said during a meeting with directors of departments in the Qassim region that the ministry had taken important steps to preserve public money in cooperation with everyone concerned. He pointed that more than 15,000 jobs were retrenched by removing employees who were receiving salaries without doing their jobs. New employees have been hired to work in recovered jobs throughout Saudi Arabia"s regions. Al-Sheikh also noted that the ministry contributed to creating about 42,000 jobs for people of both sexes, in addition to finding Saudis to fill 16,000 existing jobs in the past four years. On women empowerment, Al-Sheikh said about 8,000 Saudi women were employed by the ministry. He said the priority of the ministry"s da"wah plan represented in spreading the Tawheed Creed (Aqeedah), adhering to it, revealing its importance and necessity, and not giving it up. The ministry held thousands of lectures, courses, and seminars in different regions of Saudi Arabia in this regard. The ministry"s plans have succeeded in preserving the platforms of call that neither serve nor the country by resetting their programs to conform with the standards to benefit people and achieve the desired goals without any tinge of extremism. Al-Sheikh referred to the important role that the ministry carries out by following up and preserving the houses of God, as well as solidifying the principles and methodology of moderation in accordance with the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
