Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Bahraini Ministry of Justice Sign MoU on Islamic Affairs

Manama, December 8, 2022, SPA – Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh and Bahraini Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda in Manama today signed an executive program for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two ministries. The two sides agreed to activate the memorandum through holding two workshops in the fields of spreading moderation and rejecting radicalism and extremism, where the first workshop to be held in Riyadh in 2023 and the second in Bahrain in 2024, provide the Bahraini Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf with publications of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran, and exchange research, studies and recommendations issued by conferences and symposiums the two ministries hold. The program includes holding a scientific meeting at the complex to benefit from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s experiments in the printing of the Holy Quran and interpreting its meanings, participating in competitions for the memorization, recitation and interpreting the meaning of the Holy Quran in the two countries, and coordinating efforts in preparing for competitions in 2023 and 2024. They also agreed to exchange laws and regulations related to the fields of preparing imams and drafting sermons, in addition to holding two courses to train imams, sermon deliverers and muezzins in 2023 and 2024, where the first to be held in Bahrain and the second in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to exchanging expertise and experiments in the fields of administering centers and Quran courses to improve their outcomes. --SPA 16:06 LOCAL TIME 13:06 GMT 0026 www.spa.gov.sa/w1823899
