Riyadh, January 11, 2023, SPA -- Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), praised the great efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in highlighting this important sector, as well as the organization and hosting of the second edition of the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the participation of more than 60 countries, providing an international platform to cast light on the efforts exerted by countries in the production of minerals and to benefit from its experiences and increase their contributions in the future. The GCC Secretary General emphasized the important role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its global leadership in the supply of renewable energy, underlining that the Forum is a comprehensive international platform that provides opportunities for investors, mining companies and stakeholders in the mining sector to discuss global economic and environmental developments that impact the industry, as well as environmental and social practices related to competition and equal opportunities, in addition to the means to build a sustainable mining industry by exploring the huge geological potential of the targeted areas to achieve fruitful cooperation in this important field. Dr. Al Hajraf hailed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading and international efforts in developing the mining regional hub, as it has become a major source of increased future demand for minerals and their value chains.
