Yemen's Gov. Welcomes Final Communique Issued by the GCC Supreme Council

Aden, Dec. 10, 2022, SPA -- The government of the Republic of Yemen welcomed the final communique issued by the 43rd session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit held in Riyadh yesterday, citing its positive interest in the Yemeni affairs. In a press release, the Foreign Ministry of Yemen praised the full support lent by the GCC summit for the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) and its affiliate entities to enable the PLC practice its job in achieving security and stability in Yemen, call on the Houthi militia to respond to the PLC to start negotiations under the auspices of UN to reach a political solution according to the three references. The statement, carried by Yemen's state-run news agency SABA expressed appreciation of the GCC supreme council's support for the Yemeni government's adherence to the humanitarian truce announced by the UN, calling on the world community to mount pressure on the Houthi militia to renew the truce and lift the blockade imposed on the city of Taiz and open all passages to allow humanitarian needs flow. The ministry expressed gratitude to all developmental, relief and humanitarian aid extended by GCC countries to alleviate the sufferings of the needy in Yemen. The statement also welcomed the GCC denunciation of the two terrorist attacks with drones carried out by the Houthi militia on oil terminals in Hadramaut and Shabwa governorate as well as Iran's blatant interference in the domestic affairs of the Republic of Yemen, flagrant violations of the UN-sponsored truce in Yemen and relevent resolutions. --SPA 15:37 LOCAL TIME 12:37 GMT 0013 www.spa.gov.sa/w1824877
