Riyadh, January 28, 2023, SPA- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf has denounced the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by a far-right extremist in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, staging repeated and systematic provocations against the feeling of Muslims around the world. Al Hajraf reiterated the unaltered position of the GCC, which calls for promoting the values of dialogue, coexistence and tolerance and rejects hatred and radicalism. Al Hajraf also lamented the absence of clear and firm official reaction to such blatant acts which, he said, have unfortunately been repeated in several European capitals recently, under the pretext of freedom of expression. He also called on the international community to swiftly intervene to stop such rejected acts. —SPA 20:21 LOCAL TIME 17:21 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1846422
