Jazan, November 10, 2022, SPA -- The National Water Company" NWC" announced that it has started implementing 4 contracts related to essential projects in the governorates of Jazan Region. The aim is to improve the operational efficiency of water services in the governorates at a cost exceeding SR 153 million in order to serve 100,000 beneficiaries. The company indicated that these projects were part of the objectives of the company to strengthen the water system in the region and expand the coverage percentages, in an implementation period of 24 months. NWC elaborated that these contracts included the implementation of a number of water projects, the completion and implementation of transmitter lines in a number of governorates of Jazan Region in addition to raising the efficiency of water supply and distribution, which will serve a number of districts in (Al-Ardah, Al-Aidabi, Abu Areesh, Al-Dayer, Al-Darb, Subya, Farasan, and Ahad Al-Masarha) governorates. The company pointed out that these contracts, which the company began to implement, included projects to support infrastructure of the water services system, namely rehabilitation of the water transmission lines affected by floods at a cost of more than SR 38.4 million, and networks and water lines lengths reaching 13 km, in order to serve three of the mountainous governorates in the Jazan Region, the project of implementing Household connections and flowmeters in Jazan governorates at a cost of more than SR 29.6 million, with the aim of delivering water service to beneficiaries, reducing water loss, expanding the coverage percentage, and improving the level of services provided to customers in those governorates. NWC additionally started implementation of the project to complete the horizontal drilling in Jazan Region at a cost of more than SR 13.4 million, at network and lines lengths of some 5 km. The company referred to its recent start of implementing the project contract to complete the implementation of water tanks and networks in the governorates of Jazan Region at a cost of SR 72 million, and lengths of networks and water lines reaching 82 km.
