Sharm El Sheikh, November 10, 2022, SPA -- As part of the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Higher Committee of Saudi Green, the second edition of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum under the theme “From ambition to action,” is scheduled to kick off in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt tomorrow over two days. The Ministry of Energy will organize a special ceremony this evening to build on the climate promises made following the conclusion of the second edition of the Green Middle East Initiative Summit last Monday, which was attended by HRH the Crown Prince. A number of ministers from Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East will attend the event to promote progress in the implementation of the Crown Prince's "Clean Fuel for Cooking Initiative," which he announced at the inaugural Middle East Green Initiative Summit in 2021. To ensure the success of this unique platform in achieving practical and tangible results in an effort to strengthen regional cooperation in climate action, more information on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's plans to establish the largest specialized centers for carbon capture, use, and storage in the Middle East will be made public. The Saudi Green Initiative exhibition, which was kicked off on Tuesday and runs until November 18, reviews the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's extensive and accelerating efforts to address climate change, where visitors of the exhibition have the opportunity to explore the diverse initiatives currently under way across the Kingdom, starting with the world's largest clean hydrogen plant in NEOM, and successful resettlement programs for the Kingdom's most critically endangered species, which all seek to realize the comprehensive objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative and ensure positive change in the long term.
