Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Inaugurates the 3rd Year of the 8th Session of the Shura Council in the Presence of HRH the Crown Prince

Jeddah, Oct. 16, 2022, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud virtually inaugurated today the works of the third year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. At the outset of the session, verses from the holy Quran were recited. The the Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh delivered a speech in which he welcomed the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for honoring the meeting and addressing the audience and the nation. Al Al-Sheikh also welcomed the presence of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, princes, Ulema, ministers and high ranking officials for honoring the meeting and listening to the King. Al Al-Sheikh described this moment as an annual occasion embodying the great significance for the national tie binding the people and their leadership. He said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing during the current era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques unique achievements which have become evident to everybody, thanks to the care the monarch is keen to bestow to his loyal people, the core of national development. On behalf of the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he paid tribute to the issuance of the royal order, naming HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince to serve as Prime Minister. The inclusive development which covers all parts of the Kingdom represent a prominent chapter of the King's prudent policy, Al Al-Shiekh said, citing a host of relevant decrees and decisions in this concern and in continuation of the Kingdom's vision 2030 embodying giant projects announced by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Al-Shiekh recalled the monarch's speech during last year's inauguaration ceremony of the second year of the eighth session of the Shura Council, when he paid tribute to the great works of the Shura Council, describing that gesture as a great incentive for exerting more effort by whoever is honored to serve under the dome of this chamber and a sincere expression of the status and trust the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques attaches to the Shura Council. Giving an account on some of the achievements of the Shura Council, Al Al-Sheikh said the Shura Council has held over its second year of the eighth session 53 sessions, which produced 396 decisions in different disciplines of life, held 252 sub-committee meetings during which more than 285 senior government officials were testimonied, and paid inspection and cooperation visits to each of Makkah, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Jazan and Northern Borders administrative regions. The speaker of the Shura Council highlighed the diplomatic mission his chamber is professionally practicing through its particpation in conferences and symposia abroad as well as exchanges of visits and correspondence with regional and international parliamentary organizations who, all of them, have expressed admiration of the performance of the Shura Council in tightening its parliamentary ties with the world's friendly and sisterly countries as well as the high level and role being played by Saudi Arabia in achieving stability and serving the issues of the region and the world at large. Al Al-Sheikh vowed to continue exerting the most possible effort to reach the climax of the nation's aspirations and upgrade the performance of the Shura Council as per the generous care and interest the King is lending to the chamber. In conclusion, Al Al-Sheikh thanked, in his own name and on behalf of the Shura Council members, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their care of the Shura Council. Al Al-Sheikh also thanked his colleagues for the work they are doing, appealing to Allah the Almighty to preserve the monarch, and HRH the Crown Prince, keep the country away from any harm and continue enjoy the blesses of security and prosperity.
