Riyadh, October 27, 2022, SPA -- The Institute of Public Administration (IPA), together with the World Bank (WB), launched the National Observatory for Gender Balance Indicators project during the period 24-26, October, 2022. More than 150 people, including representatives from more than ten of the world's top gender balance-achieving nations, including Bahrain, Australia, Spain, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Jordan, Kazakhstan, and Colombia, attended the three-day workshops. In addition, a number of international organizations, such as the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the International Labor Organization, the European Institute for Gender Equality, the UN Women, and several non-profit organizations are taking part in the event to identify the most notable successful international experiences and lessons learned in women's empowerment and gender balance. Dr. Bandar bin Asaad Al-Sajan, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, and Jens Kromann Khristensen, Regional Director of the World Bank's governance sector for the Middle East and North Africa, spoke during the opening sessions of the workshop activities. The director general of the women's division of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), Dr. Sara Jeza Al-Otaibi, opened the debate by summarizing the situation, successes, and future goals of the center in the Kingdom. Through statistics and reports based on data disaggregated by gender and job level in the organizational structure, the National Observatory for Gender Balance Indicators will help decision-makers and other users of statistical data determine the size of the disparity in participation between the two genders, identify the current obstacles and gaps, and identify treatment methods to create a balanced environment for both genders. --SPA 17:28 LOCAL TIME 14:28 GMT 0028 www.spa.gov.sa/w1804758
