Jeddah, October 17, 2022, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia joins the rest of the world in observing the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, celebrated each year on October 17, in which it highlights its relief and humanitarian efforts to support and assist countries and peoples facing emergencies due to natural disasters and other crises, which made it one of the leading donor countries in the world and the largest country supporting the activities of international organizations working in the humanitarian field. The Kingdom provides aid through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) to the needy and affected countries, through which, the Kingdom has so far implemented more than 2,100 relief and humanitarian projects in 86 countries worldwide in cooperation with 175 partners from international and regional organizations. Based on its lofty values, which it has always followed throughout its history by supporting the needy and the affected without discrimination or exception, the Kingdom reiterates its commitment to all efforts that would alleviate the suffering of vulnerable groups and reduce poverty in cooperation with the international community. The United Nations General Assembly declared October 17 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, to mobilize efforts, and to create an active and effective movement at all levels to combat poverty in the entire world.
