Riyadh, October 13, 2022, SPA -- The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British Council, United Kingdom’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities, that will pave the way for mutually beneficial collaborations between the two parties. Under the terms of the MoU, both sides will explore mutually beneficial avenues of collaboration in the arts and culture sector. This will involve knowledge and expertise exchange, mutual training and development programs, community service and other social responsibility initiatives. The MoU was signed by Jerry Inzerillo, the Group Chief Executive Officer of DGDA, and his counterpart Scott McDonald, Chief Executive of the British Council. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Inzerillo stressed the positive impact the MoU is set to have on the two sides’ ongoing efforts to exchange pertinent data sets, studies, research findings, and arts and culture expertise and consultation services. Aspects of this collaboration, he explained, will include the exchange of artifact preservation expertise and data, best practices in community training, education, and development, and joint training programs on arts, culture, and the English language. This includes mutual training programs in both Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. For his part, McDonald said he was honored and delighted to have signed the MoU with DGDA. He reaffirmed the British Council’s commitment to bolstering connections between the Arts and Culture sectors in Saudi and the UK, strengthening the sectors in both countries and beyond. This will include facilitating secondments between cultural organizations such as museums, as well as coordinating initiatives within the Diriyah community, for example, English language courses and summer training camps. --SPA 17:08 LOCAL TIME 14:08 GMT 0022 www.spa.gov.sa/w1797762
