Osaka, October 26, 2022, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, after signing the participation agreement on the sidelines of the first International Planning Meeting (IPM) for Expo 2025, which was held today in Osaka, Japan. Through its participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, the Kingdom will showcase its heritage, culture, creativity, and artistic, cultural, and societal innovations, and continue the success it has achieved through its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which resulted in the pavilion being crowned with the award for the best participating pavilion, which was visited by nearly 5 million visitors, around 24% of the total visits to Expo 2020. Expo 2025 Osaka aims to boost efforts to unite people from different cultures and interests under the global slogan "Designing Future Society for Our Lives" to raise the level of global dialogue and exchange. The international exhibition will discuss ways to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its three sub-themes: ensuring life sustainability, improving life, and enhancing life through communication. The Kingdom's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka reflects its commitment to global cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as what the participation offers to create significant opportunities for international collaboration and benefit from global experiences to build a better world for all. The Kingdom’s relationship with the Expo events started in 1958 when it participated in the Brussels Expo, and last September it officially submitted its bid to host the Expo 2030, under the slogan “The era of change: Leading the planet to a foresighted tomorrow.” The host country for Expo 2030 will be elected by Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) member states at the General Assembly meeting scheduled for November 2023. --SPA 15:00 LOCAL TIME 12:00 GMT 0022 www.spa.gov.sa/w1803135
