KAUST, AEON Sign MoU to Develop Education, Awareness, Research in Sustainable Development Fields

Jeddah, October 26, 2022, SPA -- King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and AEON Strategy – in the presence of KAUST President Prof. Tony Chan and Princess Noura bint Turki and Princess Mashael bint Saud Al-Shalan, the Co-founders of AEON – have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance partnership between the two sides in a bid to support sustainable development at the national and international levels and contribute to realizing goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof. Chan noted that the MoU is part of the university’s commitment to enhancing education, awareness and research in the sustainable development field through building up and boosting cooperation frameworks that translate KAUST’s research efforts into a strategic cognitive reality that can contribute to developing policies, empowering the youth and stimulating community initiatives to realize sustainability at the national and international levels. For her part, Princess Mashael said that the memorandum is envisioned to enhance cooperation with KAUST to benefit from technological knowledge and international expertise in developing sustainable and fair development. Meanwhile, Princess Noura voiced the strategy’s commitment to developing the social and economic development process, noting that sustainability is an integral part of living conditions, progress, civilizations and development, stressing the importance of cooperation with the university to enhance partnerships directed towards action that seeks long term positive impacts on the planet and communities around the world.
