Dubai, October 14, 2022, SPA -- Interior Ministry’s "Absher" platform at GITEX Technology Exhibition 2022, held in Dubai, is showcasing its services for visitors, as it formed a technological transformation more than 12 years ago, providing services and technical solutions that were ahead of time paving the way for the transformation process into the e-government, which is one of the main pillars in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to facilitate the movement of government transactions, expand the circle of electronic services and adopt transparency and objectivity. Absher serves more than 26 million citizens, residents, and visitors, and has provided more than 350 services in various sectors. The platform, through the digital ID, in integration with government agencies, allows access to the national platforms through the unified national access, to enhance the digital transformation journey in the Kingdom, by finding technical solutions that save effort and time for the beneficiaries and enable them to complete the procedures easily. The digital transformation has contributed to achieving a direct impact in various aspects, including environmentally, which preserved 559 million papers equivalent to preserving 35,000 trees, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 500 million kilograms during the period from 2018 to 2020, as well as saving the amount of water used in the paper industry, equivalent to more than 5.1 trillion gallons during the same period, and in the financial impact, the financial savings exceeded SR17 billion annually, while in security, the digital transformation helped reducing fraud and manipulation of documenting contracts. --SPA 16:56 LOCAL TIME 13:56 GMT 0008 www.spa.gov.sa/w1798079
