Aden, Oct 15, 2022, SPA -- Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) today handed over Aden General Hospital project in Aden governorate to the operating company of the project as a continuation of the hospital’s operating and management procedures. The contract for the operation and management of the hospital was signed in mid-August, in the presence of Director of the SDRPY’s office in Aden, Eng. Ahmed Madkhali; Director of the General Administration for Medical Projects of Al-Saad Group for Investment and Development Khalid bin Nasser Al Dabash and the Director of the Program's Facilities Portfolio, Eng. Mushabab Al-Qahtani. Director of SDRPY's Office in Aden governorate, Eng. Ahmed Madkhali explained that from the first moment after signing the contract to operate and manage Aden General Hospital, the company operating the project set out to start preparing properly, in cooperation and coordination with the competent authorities, in addition to contracting with the local cadres to operate the hospital, as they have long experience in the medical field, as well as with regard to the aspect of hospital management. Eng. Madkhali further said that the operating company for Aden General Hospital is Al-Saad Group for Investment and Development, and it is also the operator of Al-Salam Saudi Hospital in Saada governorate and the Saudi Hospital in Hajjah governorate, as the two hospitals are among the largest projects established and operated by the Kingdom with medical cadres that provide the best treatment and medical services on a high-level basis. This helped facilitate the procedures for operating and managing Aden General Hospital for the benefit of Yemeni citizens in various Yemeni governorates during the coming period. For his part, Director of the General Administration for Medical Projects of Al-Saad Group, Khalid Al Dabash stressed the importance of participating as an operating company with its experience in the projects and initiatives of SDRPY, especially in the health sector, indicating their honor to provide Aden General Hospital and Heart Center with necessary medical services, as the Group has formed a committee and taken precise procedures to contract with distinguished cadres, whether inside or outside Yemen, stressing the quality of medical cadres and their expertise, which are rated at a high level. He pointed out that Aden General Hospital was equipped with the latest medical devices including CT scans, magnetic and ultrasound scans, and cardiac catheterization, in addition to creating an automated system to give the patient an electronic medical number to make it easier for him/her to follow up on medical cases and maintain a clear medical record of all the patient’s visits to the hospital, including medications, diagnosis, and results of tests and x-rays so as to be able to provide the medical services hoped for by the fraternal Yemeni citizens, hoping that Aden Hospital would become a medical icon to be added to the chain of Saudi development support in Yemen, through SDRPY, explaining that Yemeni males and females were attracted to work by those who benefited from training through SDRPY's initiatives. On the other hand, Eng. Mushabab Al-Qahtani, Director of Facilities Portfolio in SDRPY, explained that the project contains 14 specific clinics, in addition to the heart center, and the clinics in the hospital include: eye clinic, children's clinic, dermatology clinic, dental clinic, and ear, nose and larynx clinic, orthopedic clinic, internal medicine clinic, and reproductive health clinic, as well as a clinic for endoscopy and physiotherapy. For his part, Dr. Khalid Mousa, a consultant cardiologist, said: "Aden General Hospital was established as a gift from the Kingdom to the Yemeni people, and was funded by SFD, and it works under the SDRPY's follow up, operation and management, expecting that the hospital will provide high-level services to the Yemeni citizens, especially since the hospital operating group is a pioneer in the field of medical work.” The area of Aden General Hospital is 20,000 square meters, and it was equipped with 2,187 medical devices and equipment, with a bed capacity of 270 beds. The project provided all central air-conditioning devices for the hospital, in addition to the main and subsidiary electronic panels, etc., and the supply and installation of a harmful waste incinerator. The project of Aden General Hospital's rehabilitation contributed to the provision of electrical power through 5 transformers (3 main and 2 additional) with a capacity of 1600 kVA, and transformers with a capacity of (11/0.4/0.23) volts 500 Hz, in addition to providing an emergency generator with a capacity of 1000 kVA., and 5 generators with a synchronous panel system. The project comes as a contribution to improving the performance of the health sector and raising the quality of services being provided in the governorate of Aden and its environs. The project also contributes to promoting good health and well-being, and improving medical services being provided to the Yemeni people, in addition to increasing their access to treatment for all sects, ages and genders. The SDRPY pays attention to the health sector in Yemen, as it provided support for this important sector, represented in 31 development projects and initiatives. The program also provided support to 17 medical centers by providing them with medical equipment and devices. SDRPY's projects and initiatives in the health sector include the construction of King Salman Medical and Educational City in Al-Mahra Governorate, which is one of the largest projects serving the health and education sectors in Yemen. To be hosted by Al-Mahra governorate, the project includes the construction of an integrated educational hospital with a capacity of 110 beds. SDRPY's projects in the health sector also include a project to provide medical equipment and devices for the dialysis center in the Republican Hospital in Aden, and a project to provide medical equipment and devices for a medical laboratory in Aden to facilitate and expedite the access of all families to adequate medical care, in addition to equipping Marib General Hospital Authority, Kari General Hospital and 26th of September Hospital with 62 various medical equipment and devices. The projects include a project to rehabilitate Nojd Health Center in Socotra, which is equipped with 49 medical devices, equipment and tools, a rehabilitation project for Amdhan Health Center in Socotra, where 30 medical devices, equipment and tools were provided, a project to rehabilitate the Maternity and Childhood Center, and a project to establish a fully equipped dialysis center in Al-Mahra with 83 medical devices, equipment and tools. Also, the SDRPY has provided 30 ambulances designated to support the health sector, and 15 highly-equipped emergency response vehicles. SDRPY's projects in the health sector have also contributed to raising the efficiency of medical services, improving the quality of health care provided to Yemeni beneficiaries, and providing what the health sector needs so as to enhance the readiness of health facilities in various Yemeni governorates as the SDRPY has presented (224) development projects and initiatives that it implemented in various Yemeni governorates to serve the fraternal Yemeni people in (7) basic sectors: education, health, water, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, building the capacity of government institutions, in addition to implementing many development programs. --SPA 23:42 LOCAL TIME 20:42 GMT 0020 www.spa.gov.sa/w1798516
