Shura Council Delegation Participates in 145th IPU Assembly in Rwanda

Kigali, October 10, 2022, SPA -- A delegation of the Shura Council, headed by Assistant Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Hanan bint Abdulraheem Al-Ahmadi, is scheduled to participate in the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will be held in Kigali, Rwanda. Al-Ahmadi stressed the importance of the participation of the Shura Council in these international parliamentary events and effective activities during them as part of the parliamentary diplomacy activity that the council practices to enhance the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in enhancing efforts and supporting the international legitimacy principles in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries and partners around the world in facing global crises and maintaining international security, peace and stability. She also referred to the big role of women in the Shura Council at the legislative, oversight and parliamentary diplomacy levels, noting that this parliamentary event is considered an opportunity to share the world with what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has achieved of great results in the women’s empowerment field, especially that women are a main and effective pillar in realizing the Saudi Vision 2030 that is led by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The assistant speaker concluded her remarks by saying that the international parliamentary meetings provide a precious opportunity to enhance dialogue and cooperation among legislative councils and activate parliamentary efforts to support government in enacting regulations and laws that can contribute to finding successful solutions due to what the world today is witnessing of circumstances and crises at all levels.
