Riyadh, October 02, 2022, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) "Masam" managed to dismantle 947 mines, during the 5th week of September 2022, planted by the Houthi militia in various Yemeni regions, including 3 anti-personnel mines, 412 anti-tank mines, and 515 unexploded ordnance, and 17 explosive devices. Masam's team has cleared 76 anti-tank mines, 144 unexploded ordnance, and 13 explosive devices in Aden Governorate, as well as 14 anti-tank mines, one anti-personnel mine, 17 unexploded ammunition, and one explosive charge in Hays District, Hodeidah Governorate, 4 anti-tank mines and 4 unexploded ammunition in Lahj governorate. In Marib, the team cleared 287 anti-tank mines, 287 unexploded ordnance and two explosive devices in Harib, two anti-personnel mines, and one unexploded ordnance in the Raghwan district. In Shabwa, the Masam team managed to dismantle 12 anti-tank mines and 12 unexploded ordnance in Ayn, and one anti-tank mine and one unexploded ammunition in Usaylan. While in Taiz governorate, the team also removed 3 unexploded ordnance and one explosive device in Al-Wazi’iyah district, 9 unexploded ordnance in Mawza district, 17 anti-tank mines, and 37 unexploded ordnance in Thubab district bringing the number of mines removed during September to 3,815. mines, while the number of mines that were cleared since the beginning of the “Masam” project amounted to 360,573 randomly planted by the Houthi militia throughout Yemen. --SPA 20:43 LOCAL TIME 17:43 GMT 0020 www.spa.gov.sa/w1792742
