Saudi Arabia Chairs Standing Committee's Meeting on GCC Cybersecurity

Riyadh, Jul 28, 2022, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the he National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) has chaired the activities of the 7th session of the Standing Committee on Cybersecurity in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, which was held virtually on Tuesday and Wednesday. The meeting reviewed a number of issues related to the fields of cybersecurity, including the guidebook for standards and policies related to cybersecurity, and discussed working papers on global best practices on a number of issues related to the work of the committee. The meeting also touched on a set of items on the agenda of the GCC Standing Committee on Cybersecurity, within the framework of its main role in enhancing cooperation among the GCC's Member States on issues related to cybersecurity, in addition to applying modern best practices and ways to protect and address challenges in the field. It is worth mentioning that the NCA is the competent authority for cybersecurity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the sole national reference in its affairs, and aims to strengthen it in order to protect the vital interests of the state and its national security.
