Jeddah, August 19, 2022, SPA-- The Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA), Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, and the President and CEO of the International University Specialized in Islamic Finance (INCEIF), Dr. Azmi Omar, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement between the two institutions, at the university's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The agreement aims to build a strategic partnership to boost mutual benefit from the scientific and research capabilities of the two institutions, and a joint study of the financial industry and Islamic finance to develop this important sector and advance its governance efforts per Sharia, as well as enabling the two institutions to jointly organize conferences and seminars, and hold workshops and training activities on the latest developments in the industry with analysis, development, and guidance. The Academy’s Secretary-General said the agreement would be an opportunity to attract male and female researchers from the university’s various colleges and institutes to participate in the Academy’s sessions, seminars, and conferences, adding that the Academy looks forward to strengthening scientific and research cooperation with INCEIF research teams, and benefit from their experiences that would contribute to taking appropriate Fiqh-related decisions.
