Paris, June 28, 2022, SPA -- In a meeting to prepare for the upcoming Transforming Education Summit, the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Mohammad Al-Sheikh, will join 140 ministers from around the world on June 29–June 30. The ministerial meeting, which will be held at the headquarters for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is a call to seek international partnerships to adopt comprehensive initiatives. For all the participating countries, the goals are to present their most important outcomes of the consultations, discuss their commitments to transform education, and present initiatives for each of the topics of the September summit. About 1,000 stakeholders will attend the two-day pre-summit. A large number of participants will also participate virtually and via live broadcast. The meeting will include ministers as well as youth, parents, educators and experts. Also in attendance will be representatives from U.N. agencies, multilateral and regional organizations, civil society organizations, NGOs, foundations, universities, research institutions and the private sector. The meeting serves as the cornerstone of the trend toward a global movement for education. By presenting the most important experiences of pioneering countries and education leaders, the ministers will have an overview of the latest developments and best practices to rethink and enhance education. The summit also gives a rare opportunity for students, parents and educators to share their opinions and stand in solidarity with other stakeholders. --SPA 21:51 LOCAL TIME 18:51 GMT 0035 www.spa.gov.sa/w1753851
