Saudi Finance Minister: Energy Security Is Important to Ensure Growth, prosperity of Countries

Vienna, Jun 23, 2022, SPA -- Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the forum and ministerial meeting of the OPEC Fund for International Development, which was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21 and 22, in the Austrian capital, Vienna, in the presence of their the finance ministers of member states. The meeting's agenda included reviewing the fund's annual report and financial statements, evaluating its performance for the current year 2022, in addition to discussing its upcoming work plans, as well as exchanging the views of partner countries and institutions on the current situation and the fund's role in bridging the energy poverty gap, as well as future scenarios for international development. In his participation in the forum accompanying the annual meetings, Al-Jadaan called for considering the security of energy supplies and economic development in parallel with climate challenges, pointing that no country will be able to grow and prosper without the availability of reliable energy sources.
