Ramallah, Apr 22, 2022, SPA -- The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, received a phone call yesterday, Thursday, from the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. The Palestinian News Agency stated that President Abbas, during the telephone conversion, briefed the Secretary-General on the brutal attacks of the Israeli occupation forces and extremist settlers groups that used storming Al-Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis, in flagrant violation of the historical and legal situation, which confirms the necessity of coordinating non-Muslim foreign visitors through the Department of Islamic Endowments. The President stressed the importance of creating a political horizon that would lead to ending the Israeli occupation of the territory of the State of Palestine with its capital in East Jerusalem (Al-Quds), stopping unilateral actions, and adhering to the signed agreements, warning that the continued incursions into Palestinian cities, villages and camps, and the killings of our people and other brutal attacks, would lead to dire repercussions that cannot be tolerated or forgiven. In turn, the UN Secretary-General confirmed that he will continue his contacts with all regional and international parties to stop the escalation, pointing to the importance of creating a political horizon, stressing the continuation of efforts to support the rights of the Palestinian people and support UNRWA to continue performing its work. --SPA 12:15 LOCAL TIME 09:15 GMT 0012 www.spa.gov.sa/w1724263
