Deputy Minister of Education Heads Saudi Arabia's Delegation to ALECSO Meetings in Tunisia

Tunis, May 22, 2022, SPA -- The Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi has headed the Kingdom of Saudi Araba’s delegation to the 26th session of the General Conference of The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization "ALECSO" and the meeting of its Executive Council at its 117th session in the capital, Tunis. During his speech, Dr. Al-Sudairi praised the remarkable achievements and unremitting efforts made by ALECSO in joint cooperation with member states, as well as the Kingdom’s adoption of many constructive programs and initiatives with regional and international organizations that serve its Vision 2030. He also hailed that the achievements made by the Kingdom in the field of education, culture, science and intelligence, most notably, its 1st rank in the Arab world in patents with the registration of 1871 international patents, as well as the 2nd best Arab country in terms of quality of education for 2021, in addition to winning 22 awards in the Intel International Science and Engineering Competition “ISEF 2022,” and obtaining the award for the best researcher and project scientist at the global level, stressing that the Kingdom supports national, regional and international visions to develop innovative cultural policies. Dr Al-Sudairi added that the Kingdom launched an interactive laboratory for cultural policies to contribute to empowering the cultural sector and keeping pace with the accelerating movement locally and globally, in addition to launching a cultural scholarship program and a cultural development fund to enable young people to join the creative cultural field. He also added that the Kingdom provided $30 million to the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict zones, in addition to launching an environment hackathon to support the objectives of the "Saudi Green Initiative" and enhance the Kingdom's digital role globally through a set of studies and knowledge reports related to artificial intelligence. --SPA 05:56 LOCAL TIME 02:56 GMT 0007 www.spa.gov.sa/w1736351
