GCC Secretary General stresses importance of Yemeni-Yemeni consultations in supporting Yemen

Riyadh, April 04, 2022, SPA --The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, has stressed the importance of the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations under the auspices of the GCC in supporting Yemen and the brotherly Yemeni people to end the conflict and achieve security and stability. He renewed the council's support for Yemen and the Yemeni people in light of constitutional legitimacy through a political solution based on the three references represented in the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Council resolution 2216, as well as the implementation of the provisions of Riyadh Agreement. This came during his reception at the headquarters of the council's secretariat today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Yemen Dr. Maeen Abdul-Malik Saeed. During the meeting, which was attended by members of the government of competencies participating in the Yemeni-Yemeni consultations, they reviewed the efforts and initiatives of the GCC countries aimed at achieving security, stability and peace in Yemen in light of the consultations being hosted by the Secretariat General from March 29 to April 7, 2022. During the meeting, they reviewed the international efforts to end the conflict represented by the truce announced by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg. The Secretary General also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the rapid response of the Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen to the call to stop military operations inside Yemen with the aim of creating the appropriate conditions for the success of the consultations. Dr. Al-Hajraf stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of these efforts, which reflect Gulf, regional and international concerns to support the stability of Yemen and achieve everything that would end the conflict and advance the development, relief and economic fields in accordance with the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people and achieve all that is good and prosperous for them. --SPA 17:40 LOCAL TIME 14:40 GMT 0018 www.spa.gov.sa/w1716958
