King Abdulaziz Public Library Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Bayt El-Hekma Chinese Group

Riyadh, April 4, 2022, SPA – King Abdulaziz Public Library at its headquarters today signed a memorandum of understanding with Bayt El-Hekma Chinese Group in several fields. The memorandum aims at enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China in the fields of culture, knowledge and language, among others, in a way that includes joint fields with interests to both sides. The agreement includes exchanging translation and publication between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China, exchanging cultural visits, holding scientific and know-how meetings, and holding specialized exhibitions, where the memorandum also seeks to support the existing partnership between the two countries and bonds between the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030, in addition to working on activating cultural commonalities and acquainting each other with cultural heritage. The two sides are planned jointly to organize forums, expert dialogues and exhibitions, among other activities of concern in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China on the traditional culture and cultural heritage between the two countries. General Manager of the King Abdulaziz Public Library Dr. Bandar Al-Mobarak and the founding partner at Bayt El-Hekma signed the memorandum. Dr. Al-Mobarak said that the agreement is part of the library's interest to communicate and interact with various platforms, institutions and local and international cultural and social associations so as to expand aspects of the cultural work and deliver the Saudi culture with its various elements to the world and those interested in the Saudi culture with its various Arab, Islamic and cultural dimensions, where this cooperation with China is a look at the existing cooperation between the library and the Chinese culture since the inauguration of the King Abdulaziz Public Library branch in the Beijing University, which receives the attention of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. Dr. Al-Mobarak expressed hope for this cooperation to realize the envisioned level of a prestigious and distinguished cultural exchange, especially that the Arab and Chinese civilizations are among the deep-rooted cultures that clearly contributed to spreading science and knowledge around the world. The King Abdulaziz Public Library, with its all internal and external branches, seeks to spread knowledge and culture, provide knowledge sources and facilitate their use, make them available for the society through holding symposiums, lectures and exhibitions, and supporting scientific research, writing, publication and providing information services and developing the children culture.
