Riyadh, March 06, 2022, SPA -- The Ministry of Culture is participating with a variety of cultural activities in the World Defense Show, hosted in Riyadh from March 6 to 9, as part of the cooperation between the ministry and the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), to provide a Saudi cultural experience for visitors and participants in the global platform. The diverse collection of cultural activities includes the "Year of Saudi Coffee 2022" initiative, where places designated to receive guests and visitors have been prepared to welcome them and present them with Saudi coffee, as well as a review of how it is made, prepared and served, inspired by the Saudi traditions, in addition to organizing VIP tours for main guests to the Masmak and Salwa Palaces. The activities also include the participation of the Fashion Commission in designing an official uniform of a military nature, to highlight the role of the Saudi industry and its historical military identity, in addition to a presentation in the show’s guest rooms of a series of selected documentaries that tell the story of the Kingdom’s history, culture, and heritage. The ministry prepared a library at the World Defense Show inspired by a library in Riyadh, containing books in different languages on the Kingdom’s history, in addition to displaying some manuscripts related to the history and culture of the country provided by the Ministry in coordination with the King Salman Center for Studies of the History of the Arabian Peninsula. The audience will also enjoy a treat of Military traditional music in the event, prepared specifically for this global gathering. The ministry has prepared souvenirs for the Show’s guests, including the “Taif Mission” book, which tells in both Arabic and English the interest of King Abdulaziz in building a Saudi military army by Saudi hands, as well as his interest in establishing the first defense agency. The book also includes a set of photographs that documents the tasks of an American military mission that trained Saudi officers in Taif between 1363 AH - 1364 AH as part of the US-Saudi cooperation program in building the capabilities of the Saudi army. The photos were taken by Alfred Brakin, a participant in that mission. Through such participation, the Ministry of Culture aims to highlight and share the Saudi culture and identity with a high-level audience at the national and international levels, as part of the ministry’s strenuous efforts to enhance the presence of Saudi culture in international forums held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. --SPA 16:07 LOCAL TIME 13:07 GMT 0010 www.spa.gov.sa/w1701436
