Aden, April 28, 2022, SPA – King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in cooperation with UN Women, has implemented several training workshops in Aden for various classes of the Yemeni society, as part of a project to protect and empower women and girls who were affected by gender-based violence in Yemen. The three-day workshops included the participation of 75 trainees of media people and community leaders, in addition to some parents with the aim of raising social awareness to limit some "stigma" practices and their impact on survivors of gender-based violence and social violence in general, in addition to getting acquainted with the concept of "stigma", its forms, reasons and addressing its negative impacts on individuals, families and the society. The project enhances self-reliance for displaced and vulnerable women in affected areas through interventions for living conditions and protection, including through the support of the Child and Family Protection Office affiliated to WACP, increasing the understanding of local stakeholders about gender-based violence and limiting it, in addition to providing 120 women with a vocational training diploma and the best 70 performing women with work tools.
